  1. The Hobey Baker Memorial Trophy is given
  2. every year to the best college hockey player
  3. in the United States. The award was first
  4. presented on April 1, 1981, to Neal Broten
  5. of the University of Minnesota. Neal had
  6. been a member of the U.S. Olympic Hockey
  7. Team that won a gold medal in 1980. He
  8. became an NHL All-Star with the Minnesota
  9. North Stars (now the Dallas Stars).

  12. Robb Stauber (of the University of Minne-
  13. sota, now with the Los Angeles Kings), Kip
  14. Miller (of Michigan State University, now 
  15. with the Dallas Stars), Scott Pellerin (of the
  16. University of Maine, now with the New
  17. Jersey Devils), and Paul Kariya (of the
  18. University of Maine, now with the Mighty
  19. Ducks of Anaheim).
